Upcoming albums rundown plus daily news.

So this spring/summer is pretty outstanding in the way of musical releases. In other words it’s going to be a great time to have ears. Since the amount of new material coming our way is pretty excessive, I thought I’d post the albums I’m most looking forward to, along with their release dates.

4-20 Caribou: Swim

4-20 Roky Erickson With Okkervil River: True Love Cast Out All Evil

4-27 Avi Buffalo: Avi Buffalo

5-4 Broken Social Scene: Forgiveness Rock Record

5-4 The New Pornographers: Together

5-4 The Hold Steady: Heaven Is Whenever

5-11: The National: High Violet

5-11 The Dead Weather: Sea of Cowards

5-11 Phosphorescent: Here's to Taking It Easy

5-11 Sleigh Bells: Treats

5-18 Band of Horses: Infinite Arms

5-18 LCD Soundsystem: This Is Happening

6-08 Blitzen Trapper: Destroyer of the Void

6-15 The Gaslight Anthem: American Slang

6-29 M.I.A: TBA

No specific release date but promised sometime soon:

Wolf Parade: Expo 86

Panda Bear: Tomboy

There’s definitely more than this but these are the ones I’m most looking forward to, as in have the dates marked in 3 separate calendars. If you (like myself) are impatient and want to hear new material now, The Hold Steady, Broken Social Scene and LCD Soundsystem have all offered their albums up for stream. I posted the link to the LCD Soundsystem album earlier but I’ll post it again in case you missed it.

In other LCD news the band has released their (amazing) video for Drunk Girls watch it via Stereogum: http://stereogum.com/344622/lcd-soundsystem-drunk-girls-video/video/?utm_campaign=sg&utm_medium=homepage&utm_source=morenews

Finally, Blur (!) is back! The band released their first single in 7 years, entitled Fool’s Day via a special UK only 7in for Record Store Day. For those of us who don’t reside in the UK, the band gave the song up for free download on their website, just provide an e-mail address and the song is yours (it’s worth it).
