So I promised a Record Store day preview, but you’re going to get a review instead. I posted the link to all that is being released today a while ago but here it is again in case you’re heading out later today:

Buffalo has a couple record stores worth noting, but I only hit one, mostly because I managed to find pretty much everything I was looking for. I had to budget myself more so than usual this year since my income as of late has been less than desirable (I am a poor college kid after all.) That being said I was still able to come home with a considerable haul, so here’s what I picked up:Modest Mouse: The Moon and Antarctica vinyl reissue
LCD Soundsystem: Pow Pow single
The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarves: The Dark Side of the Moon on Seafoam green vinyl!
Beach House: Zebra single, with special UK edit, remix version of 10 Mile Stereo
Bon Iver/Peter Gabriel: Flume/Come Talk to Me 7in
& Beach House’s Devotion on vinyl (not a Record Store Day exclusive but I had to have it!)
So there you have it, I also entered a raffle to win my city’s only copy of The Hold Steady’s special vinyl release of Heaven is Whenever, I doubt I’ll win but I had to try. I highly suggest you guys hit a local record store today and participate. Physical media is a dying art and local shops need as much support as they can get. Personally, I prefer vinyl over mp3’s 100%, but if mp3’s are more your thing go and buy some CD’s (I know it sounds so 90’s.) Not only will you be supporting small businesses that are forced to compete with online retailers as well as corporations, but you’ll be supporting the artists you love as well which makes it doubly worth it.
